I use photography as a means of acquainting myself with the innermost authentic versions of people. To formulate this in my work, I stand with my eye behind the viewfinder for however long it takes until I am introduced to the deepest self of my subjects, where artificial and feigned exteriors cease to exist. In those brief moments where people feel that no public attentiveness is fixated on them, emotional fronts are dropped and you acquire a greeting to their unembellished self and state of mind. That is my moment of capture; that is the moment that drives me to continue with my work; the unintentional personable relationship that can only be obtained through my camera. What I strive to capture is perfectly parallel to what I aim to have my art remembered by: nonfiction authenticity and raw emotion.
